You have a great course out there, however with fuel prices as high as they are and going higher, its difficult to justify travelling 50 miles to the course. It’s probably a once a year trip for me.

I always enjoy playing Tanglewood. You keep making improvements that make the course a pleasure to play.

I am suffering some back pain and am swinging at about 80%. I have found that I hit more fairways and greens by swinging at 80% then I did swinging all-out. I am also scoring better this way.

I think most golfers would score better by not “swinging for the fences” all the time.

Hope to be playing Tanglewood soon.

Played your course two weeks ago for the first time this year. Conditions were great and my foursome had a great time. Par’ed #18 for the first time in many many attempts, it was a great feeling.
Can’t wait to come back.

Jim,

That is great insight regarding our 16th hole at Tanglewood. When playing the hole the first time, players are apt to be tricked by the yardage. It is extremely important to get the ball on the green. The chip shot from short of the green is no bargain. For that matter, the chip from right, left or over the green is difficult at best.

Hey Rich … nice job on the tips.

For the many who play TW, they may already know this, but on the par 3 16th, if you play a fade add 2 clubs and 1 for a draw … no matter where the pin is.

It’s a killer green, and I have always scored better if I’m putting instead of chipping (unless that *&^%# pin is in the very front.
