Here’s a great response I wanted to share regarding my recent e-mail on doing yoga to help my golf game. Thanks, Jim, for the response. Rich Carr
Hello Rich & whoever suggested the Yoga,
My name is Jim McBreen; I worked for a brief period as the Director of Outside Services under Ron Brown. I’m a certified Golf Teaching Pro and an avid yogi. I had a wonderful experience and introduction to Yoga while in college and even though I could clearly see and enjoy the benefits of Yoga then, I simply just let it go while I got about the business of completing college and finding a job.
My wife Susan and I are now starting our 3rd year of Yoga. Let me put it this way, there are two things that I plan on enjoying until the day they “send me up the chimney” … Yoga and Golf and I must say “in that order”.
Yoga clearly benefits our lives in so many ways, not only does it improve my flexibility and range of motion for golf, but it applies to all bending, stretching, lifting and simply just moving one’s body. I’m now in my “young 60’s” and have easily added 15 to 20 yards to each club and actually more to my driver.
So, just to confirm that “wonderful email”, I truly applaud the identification and recognition of Yoga as a great supplement to “golf instruction” and as a lifestyle addition that will add years of quality life to whatever we have left : )
Keep up the good work and even if you never pick up a club … DO YOGA!
All the best,
Jim McBreen
